Whenever we enter an ATS classroom, we immediately make a beeline for the kids so we can talk to them. On this particular day, we found ourselves in an impromptu circle discussion with four middle school students. Barry asked one young man, “So tell us how this ATS experience is different from what would have normally happened if you had gotten in trouble and had to go up to the office.”
This boy thought a moment and stated, “Last year, when I would get in trouble, they would yell at me for what I did. I would get really nervous and I would say whatever I needed to say so that they would stop talking to me.”
Just like we say all the time: “Talk less, and listen more…Like a coach!”
